Where Wood Panelling Meets a Splash of Blue
A thoughtful split-level renovation in Greenville, SC
When time leaves its mark on a mid-century home, the challenge isn’t just to repair—it’s to reinterpret. In this case, a 1960s split-level home in Greenville, South Carolina, underwent a sensitive renovation that respected its original character. The result is a space that feels both timeless and contemporary, achieved through a clear vision and a tightly coordinated team effort.
The project was led by Tindall Architecture Workshop (TAW), in collaboration with Carson Speer Builders and ID Studio Interiors. The homeowner played an active role too, contributing to what the team describes as a “true collective effort”. Enjoy!

“We’re a small, mobile group,” explains a representative from TAW. “We all work from home because we love our families, value a healthy work-life balance, and the low overhead keeps us competitive. TAW is not a corporate firm—we’re comfortable with being small, local, normal and easy—and we believe in accomplishing great design work.”
